FaceMend — Privacy Policy

FaceMend edits your photos on your device. Your photos never leave your phone. There is no FaceMend account, no FaceMend server, and nothing you edit is uploaded to us or anyone else.

The short version

We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data.
Your photos and edits stay on your device.
All editing and AI (retouch, reshape, background, relight, hair color, enhance) runs locally on your iPhone. No cloud.
There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking.
Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device.

Who we are

FaceMend (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is an iOS application that retouches and enhances photos entirely on your device. This policy explains how the app handles information.

Information we collect

We do not collect any information. FaceMend has no backend servers and no user accounts. We never receive your photos, your edits, or any identifiers. The app contains no analytics, no advertising SDK, and no crash-reporting service. Because nothing is sent to us, there is no FaceMend-held copy of your data to access, share, or lose.

The app’s Apple App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected.”

Your photos

To do its job, the app works with your photos locally on your iPhone:

Choosing a photo. You pick photos with the system photo picker. FaceMend does not ask for access to your whole photo library and cannot browse it. You choose exactly which photos the app can see.
Editing. Every edit (retouch, skin smoothing, blemish removal, teeth whitening, reshape, sculpt, background remove or swap, relight, hair color, AI enhance, filters) is processed on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
Saving. When you save an edited photo, the app asks only for permission to add photos to your library, never to read it.
Location data. FaceMend removes location (GPS) data from the photos it exports.

On-device AI

All AI features run on your device using Apple’s on-device frameworks and bundled machine learning models. No photo and no data derived from a photo is sent to Apple’s servers, to us, or to any third party for this processing.

One model (used by the object Eraser) is too large to ship inside the app. The first time you use the Eraser, Apple delivers that model file from the App Store to your device as an on-demand resource. This is a one-way download to your phone: no photo and no personal data is sent anywhere as part of it.

Permissions the app requests

Add to Photos - to save your edited photos to your library. Save-only; the app does not request read access to your library (photo selection goes through the system picker, which shares only the photos you pick).

You can review permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.

Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes your payment and manages your subscription; we never receive your payment details or financial information. Your purchase entitlement is checked on your device. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. You can manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

An edited photo leaves your device only when you choose to share or save it, using your iPhone’s standard share options. At that point the photo is handled by whichever app or service you select, under that service’s own terms. FaceMend does not share your photos on its own.

Data retention and deletion

Your projects and edits live on your device for as long as you keep them. Deleting a project in the app removes its data. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device. Because we hold none of your data, there is nothing for you to request, export, or delete from us.

Children

FaceMend is a general-audience photo editor and is not directed to children under 13. As the app collects no data, no data from children is sent to us in any case.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of FaceMend ever changes how it handles your photos (for example, if a feature ever needed to process a photo off your device), this policy and the in-app claims will be updated to say so plainly before that feature ships, and the date at the top of this page will change. As of this version, all processing is on your device.
